Citizen Security and Justice Programme (CSJP)
The Citizen Security and Justice Programme (CSJP) III is a multi-faceted crime, violence prevention, employment and access to Justice initiative of the Ministry of National Security and the Ministry of Justice which focuses on building community safety and security. The programme provides crime and violence prevention services to fifty (50) vulnerable and volatile communities, spanning eight parishes. The Programme is funded by the Government of Jamaica, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada (DFATD); and the Department for International Development of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (DFID).
The CSJP works closely with the Legal Aid Council to provide Community Justice Services by hosting and participating in justice fairs and training and sensitization for Justices of the Peace and Police Officers. The mobile unit of the Legal Aid Council is also funded by CSJP.
